Resistant to rising damp and crack-bridging
Car parks involving a floor slab made of watertight concrete represent a huge challenge for planners. To ensure its permanent function, the coating build-up has to satisfy conflicting requirements. Firstly, rising damp needs to be prevented. And secondly, cracks often need to be bridged. StoPox 590 EP, a cement-filled floor coating made of epoxy resin, has been proving its worth in this complex area for many years.

Solutions for floor slabs
Protection against ingress of water and harmful substances
Not all surfaces are situated on long-span or protruding intermediate floors with crack movements caused by loads or temperature. Floor slabs are hardly ever subjected to stresses of this nature. Coatings in this area need to prevent the ingress of water and the de-icing salts dissolved within it. Protection against rising damp is also important. Reliably dealing with cracks
Crack-bridging coatings are necessary if there is a risk of cracks forming or if existing cracks exhibit significant changes in crack width as a result of temperature and alternating load stresses. Solutions for entrance areas and ramps
Tough, durable surface required
Ramps are subject to high shear and abrasion loads, which is why a coating has to be tough, durable, and skid-resistant. There is a also the risk of rising damp. Our StoFloor Traffic DV 100, StoFloor Traffic Elastic 590 EP, or rapid PMMA systems satisfy these requirements.

Exposed decks
Increased crack-bridging ability
As with intermediate decks, exposed decks are also at risk of cracks forming and can exhibit significant changes in crack width as a result of temperature and alternating load stresses. Crack-bridging protective surface coatings that can be driven over are therefore also required for exposed decks.
Due to the increased crack-bridging ability (elastic), the StoFloor Traffic Elastic EZ 500 and StoFloor Traffic Elastic TEP MultiTop systems are the recommended choice for exposed decks.
Solutions for pedestrian areas
Standing firm in the face of pedestrian traffic
Pedestrian areas have to be able to withstand high levels of footfall. Moisture and de-icing salts are walked through these areas and, here too, CO2 causes the concrete to degrade at an accelerated rate. What’s more, pedestrian areas should guide users around, which is why they are marked out in different colours. Our multi-storey car park systems offer effective and cost-effective solutions that also provide a lot of scope for initiative.

Slab surfaces
Waterproofing layer and surface protection
Parking decks featuring slab surfaces have no reinforced concrete members which vehicles drive over directly and which need to be protected. However, water containing de-icing salts puts a strain on building elements such as foundations or the plinths of supports and walls. The StoCrete FB waterproofing layer protects covered building elements and is suitable as surface protection in the spray and splash zone of water contaminated with chloride.

For the subsequent reinforcement of concrete members, the Sto S&P CFRP Plates, which have been tested as part of a system, have proven to be successful. They increase the resistance of concrete members without considerably affecting the dimensions and weight of these elements. The plates can be concealed with a coating.

The StoConcrete Protect Prime TU 100 system is part of the tested anti-graffiti systems (AGS) of the German Federal Highway Research Institute.
