Delivery status update by SMS

When will my material arrive at the site? The faster and more precisely painters and plasterers know, the easier it is to plan the construction site. Shipment tracking helps enormously. Sto and StoCretec are now supplementing their "Track & Trace" real-time tracking service with push messages via SMS or e-mail.

The "Track & Trace" principle works in the same way as with private online purchases: When the ordered goods leave the warehouse, the tradesperson receives a tracking link that allows them to follow the delivery status in real time. The link is sent directly by SMS or email to the contact person stored in the SAP process. Webshop users can find the link in the order history of the StoOnline Shop. The service saves telephone enquiries and works regardless of whether the order was placed via the web shop or another method.

Transparency in the supply chain
New in the ordering process at Sto and StoCretec are now so-called "push notifications". If a customer orders via the SalesCentre, the mobile phone number or email address of the contact person to whom the push messages should be sent - ideally an employee on the site - is added to the recipient's contact details. This also reduces the communication effort in the trade business. The person waiting for the material is always up to date. If the delivery status changes, they are automatically informed. "We are thus increasing transparency in our supply chain and enabling our customers to plan construction sites effectively through proactive communication," says Heiner Röhr, Head of Region Germany. "This allows us to offer our customers an even better shopping experience across all sales channels."
