StoFloor Traffic WL 100 protects underground carpark of International School in Kuala Lumpur
The campus of one of the largest international schools in the country with over 2,000 students is located in a densely populated residential area in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The traffic situation on the campus is therefore very tense at peak times. The school management has now responded to this by redesigning the site. The footpaths and vehicle access have been relocated. The construction project also included the conversion of the performing arts centre, a sports and water sports centre, new entrances and the renovation of an underground car park under a sports field.
The approximately 6,300 square metres of floor area in this underground car park first had to be renovated and levelled due to water damage. The specialist applicator then coated the traffic and parking areas with the StoFloor Traffic WL 100 water-based epoxy resin flooring system.
StoFloor Traffic WL 100 - Reliable solution for base slabs in contact with the ground
The traffic surface system consists of the epoxy resin primer StoPox WG 100, the broadcasted surface protection layer StoPox WG 100 filled with StoQuarz and the pigmented sealing coat StoPox WL 100. It offers an economical and safe solution for base slabs in contact with the ground made of concrete or cementitious screed. Its excellent water vapour permeability ensures that moisture can escape from the substrate - without bubble formation and without the coating peeling off. Thus, the surface protection system remains permanently dense. In addition, StoFloor Traffic WL 100 adheres very well to the substrate despite heavy vehicle traffic. Its liquid-tight surface reliably protects the building fabric from oils and fuels.
All system components of StoFloor Traffic WL 100 are easy to apply. The StoPox WL 100 sealing coat can be sprayed airless, thus saving time and money. The system structure is limited combustibility and therefore fulfils the fire protection requirements. The traffic surface system, which has been tried and tested for many years, is also subject to voluntary external monitoring.
The slip-resistant surface of the traffic coating system and the coloured markings for footpaths, driveways and special parking areas ensure safety and user-friendliness. The new traffic routing in the underground car park now helps to ease traffic on the campus.
