All going green!

Agrargesellschaft mbH Jüchsen, located in Grabfeld, Thuringia (Schmalkalden-Meiningen district, Germany), is a varied agricultural enterprise with arable land, grassland, and up to 500 dairy cows.

The farm invested in converting its outdated rotary milking parlour into state-of-the-art, fully automated individual milking stations with an adjoining laboratory and milking equipment room.

For the installation of the nine fully automatic milking robots from GEA¹, the investor also had the rinsing water trough of the milking parlour refurbished. The specialised applicator, company Fenn Handwerkerservice, applied the tested epoxy resin StoPox GH 205 onto the concrete substrate. The product is resistant to rising damp, offers excellent adhesion to mineral substrates, and has low VOC emissions². Fenn subsequently used StoPox GH 530 as a levelling filler and broadcasted it with StoQuarz 0.6 - 1.2 mm. StoPox GH 530 is prefilled with special filling material, ensures excellent substrate wetting, and it is very easy to vent. StoPox GH 530 is tested for compatibility between the coating and concrete, as well as for its bonding behaviour when exposed to rising damp.

The highlight of the milking trough is the StoPox DV 100 sealant in opal green. Following his motto "We bring colour to the cowshed," the applicator convinced the investor to choose the milking trough matching the colour of the GEA milking robots. The system's rinse water, which is used to clean the milking equipment, drains through the trough. This removes milk residue and other contaminants and prepares the system for the next milking.

StoPox DV 100 is suitable for areas with slip resistance requirements. With broadcasting StoQuarz 0.6 - 1.2 mm, a slip resistance class of R 12 was achieved here. Short-term cleaning with water is possible up to +80 °C, and permanent wetness up to +40 °C. The elasticised sealing coat provides excellent coverage and can be tinted in a variety of colour shades. This made it possible to perfectly match the colour of the trough and the milking machine.

The applicator coated the adjoining open utility room for the laboratory and milking equipment with StoFloor Industry WL 100 in silver grey. This water-based sealing system for floor and wall surface areas is used in laboratories, cleanrooms, and in production areas in the food processing industry. The limited combustibility system build-up has a very good ease of decontamination, is easy to clean, low in emissions², and benzyl alcohol-free.
