TR Maintenance: What has changed for planners
In conversation: The importance of TR Instandhaltung for modern concrete repair
TR Instandhaltung has brought about a lasting change in the planning of concrete repairs. Clear requirements for construction products, systems and verification ensure greater safety and quality, but at the same time place higher demands on documentation and planning. What does this mean in practice?
We discuss this with our Product Manager for concrete repair, Alexander Jurecka, who has been involved in developing the implementation of the standard into day-to-day practice at StoCretec right from the start.
As early as 2025, in our seminar series ‘StoCretec Partner Days’ and ‘StoCretec Dialog Days’, we were already addressing questions such as ‘How will the handling of serviceability verification in accordance with TR Maintenance be structured in future?’, “What is a DIBt report and how should it be handled?”, “Are there alternative forms of verification?”, and “Structural stability-related repair – which systems should be used?”
In a recent interview, Alexander Jurecka once again provides key answers.
Question: What is the significance of the TR on Maintenance for the planning of concrete repair works?
Answer: This set of regulations has fundamentally changed the planning process. It sets out clear requirements for construction products, systems and the verification of their performance. For planners, this means greater certainty, but at the same time higher demands on documentation and the early consideration of standard requirements. This is clearly evident in practice: in addition to the traditional technical data sheets, system verifications, declarations of performance and test reports, so-called ‘suitability verifications’ must now be taken into account.
As a result, documentation in accordance with standards is becoming a greater focus than ever before, right from the planning phase.
Question: How has StoCretec adapted to the new requirements?

Answer: The aim is to establish uniform and comparable standards. Individual and project-specific verifications were often time-consuming and difficult to follow. Standardised forms of verification ensure quality and make the planning process more transparent.

This includes documentation on national and European suitability for use and declarations of conformity, plus the necessary European certification for the manufacturing plant.
