Building elements that are exposed to weathering need protection from frost, heat and UV rays. This includes in particular balcony floors, which are exposed to weathering all year round and therefore need to be cold-elastic, bridging of cracks and UV-resistant.

This is where the new StoFloor Balcony waterproofing system StoFloor Balcony Waterproof EB 200, which fulfils all the requirements of EAD 030350-00-0402. A current example shows the application on a balcony in Graz.

Passed the test as a Waterproofing layer suitable for foot traffic
The tested StoFloor Balcony Waterproof EB 200 system with fleece inlay seals balcony floors reliably and permanently. It fulfils all requirements in accordance with DIN 18531-5 for sealing balconies, loggias and access balconies and has successfully passed the test as a waterproofing layer suitable for foot traffic in accordance with EAD 030350-00-0402. It is certified to the highest level of service life category W3 (25 years), climate zones (M and S) and temperature resistance (TH 4, TL 4).

As an additional system variant, the structure without fleece inlay was tested in accordance with EAD 030350-00-0402 and can also be used as a tested sealing coat with the classes service life W3, climate zones (M+S) and temperature resistance (TH2, TL4).

The StoPur EB 200 system component of the StoFloor Balcony Waterproof EB 200 system is heat-resistant in summer and cold-elastic in winter. It is weather and UV-resistant and highly resistant to mechanical stress.

At the same time, it reliably bridges cracks in the substrate even at low temperatures, thus preventing possible damage caused by water penetrating the building fabric. This dual function is based on a multi-phase polymer matrix (hybrid) of the StoPur EB 200 coating.

A balcony in Graz was given a new sealing coat that reliably protects its building fabric and is attractive at the same time.

StoFloor Balcony Waterproof EB 200 also impresses with its visual appearance. With a very wide range of colours and the scattering of coloured acrylate chips, it offers the possibility of decoratively designing floors - even the tinting of individual containers is possible.

The sealing coats StoPur DL 520 or StoPur VR 100 filled with Sto Ballotini ensure good cleaning properties and safe foot traffic even when wet.

Integrated sound insulation
The flooring system also contributes to compliance with the sound insulation requirements for building engineering in accordance with DIN 4109: it reduces impact sound by 12 decibels.

Conclusion
With StoFloor Balcony Waterproof EB 200, the balcony is permanently protected, even under changing weather conditions. The waterproofing system is UV-resistant, has a bridging of cracks effect even in cold weather and can withstand high heat without any problems.
