Our color collections support you in your projects and help you to find exactly the color combination you are looking for - on the floor, on the facade and in the interior. Be inspired and get to know the colors of the RAL color fan(RAL-Farbtonfächers | PDF 0,1 MB), the StoColor System, the AC - Architectural Colors - collection and other color collections.
Many of our products can be tinted directly on site in the Sto SalesCentre.
In order to be able to react quickly to your wishes, we keep selected colour shades in stock for numerous products, especially according to the RAL color chart (grey shades). If you have a special colour request, many of our products can be tinted directly at the Sto locations according to your specifications. This saves time, money and long waiting times.
We have divided the RAL colours into price groups. They mainly apply to StoPox and StoPur products as well as StoCryl BF 200 / StoCryl BF 700.
You can see here which price group (11 or 12) your desired colour falls into. Incidentally, the surcharges are already included in the list prices. Other colours (RAL, NCS, sample colors, others) are assigned to these two price groups depending on the colour intensity.

Peter Appenzeller and Antonio Romano are responsible for the new StoColor System. Three questions for the developers of the system:
Why was a new colour system developed?
"We wanted to develop a system that offers clear application benefits that go beyond existing colour systems: With an intelligent system that provides users with "recipes" for the composition of colour shades. We show ways of how to achieve these individual The basis is a finely tuned colour wheel with 72 color ranges and a systematic pre-selection of colour shades within the individual colour ranges."

What are the specifics of the content?
"On the one hand, the conceptual approach: The StoColor System is designed holistically and for the long term. And of course the overall concept with all the variety that the user gets: 1000 colour shades for the facade, 225 colour shades especially for interiors and a further 240 lacquer and glaze colors. Plus historically or culturally important shades. The consulting media are also a real specialty. This makes it possible to design a complete project with just one tool!"
How does the StoColor System work?
"The StoColor System is conceived from the point of view of application. There are types who think analytically. For them, gradations in brightness and saturation are the right way to find the right recipe. The emotional type uses the colour fans based on practical application. We have them taken liberty to emphasize colour nuances and compositions within the methodically constructed system."

Alabaster white, Rügener chalk, French ochre, Egyptian blue, English red or Terra di Siena. The reference to the cultural and creative past is elementary in the work with colour. The ideal value of these colour tones remains independent of the production of the original dye from natural raw materials. In order to continue the cultural tradition of these colour tones, the new StoColor System includes 72 historically relevant and material-related color tones.

A very finely graded colour circle forms the basis of the new colour system. It includes 72 colour ranges based on the three primary colors yellow, red and blue. Create individual compositions. A targeted selection of colour shades per colour range supports you.
In the new StoColor System, the position of colour shades in the three-dimensional colour space is precisely defined. Namely via the parameters hue, brightness and chroma. The colour system divides the colour wheel into 72 hue areas at a smaller distance of just 5 degrees. A big advantage over other metric systems. In practice, this means that very finely nuanced compositions of colour tones with small differences in colour tones are possible.
Colors of directly adjacent color ranges also have a deliberate offset of brightness and chroma and thus complement each other perfectly.

The application of colour in an urban context must aim for long-term validity. The new StoColor system enables you to realise your concept ideas. From the development of specific compositions to the implementation in various facade materials.
Good concepts are characterised by the planning and control of the colour effect. Texture and shading or different degrees of gloss change the aesthetic effect as well as the perception of the colour tone itself. This concerns hue, brightness and chroma. Decisions can only be made with certainty with real samples.

The two examples of monochrome and polychrome monochrome compositions shown illustrate the difference between the two creative approaches.
Monochrome: shows colour tones with differences in brightness and chroma from one colour tone range.
Polychrome monochrome: shows colour tones with differences in brightness and chroma from several, directly neighbouring colour tone ranges.
As a result, the second variant shows the somewhat broader colour spectrum - from reddish to greenish nuances.

A harmonious colour design is not a matter of chance. With the right tools and well thought-out media, you are well equipped on the way to the desired colour design. Our three media give you the necessary security for the application. Starting with the colour fan for the entire system, through individual sheets for all colour tones, to the edition with 6 individual compartments.
