New floor at the chemical park

New floor at chemical park

Factory in Hungary renovated

Strict resting plates apply to the production of crop protection products, and not only in Germany. This is demonstrated by the modernisation at Chemark in Berhida, Hungary. In order to comply with all environmental standards - especially with regard to water pollution control - the floor of a collecting basin has been sealed with a WHG system from StoCretec.

The Hungarian producer Chempark produces crop protection products such as herbicides and liquid fertilisers on an industrial scale. Founded in 1991, parts of the plant in Berhida have now been modernised. One elementary project: the sealing of the collecting basin under the raw material silos.

In order to comply with the strict national standards for environmental safety and water pollution control, high-performance coating systems from StoCretec were used: "StoFloor Industry Elastic WHG Deck 100" and "StoFloor Industry Elastic WHG Deck 110". These coating systems are designed as sealing surfaces in systems for handling water-polluting media.

They ensure that no toxic substances are released into the substrate or water. The coatings are highly bridging of cracks and have a very high chemical and mechanical resistance. They are suitable for vehicle traffic with polyamide and Vulkollan tyres.

The standard smooth surface of "StoFloor Industry Elastic WHG Deck 100" can also be used as a slip-resistant surface up to slip resistance class R 13. Thanks to its conductive intermediate layer and its conductive finishing coat, the "StoFloor Industry Elastic WHG Deck 110" system prevents electrostatic charges when walking or driving on it. It is therefore used in systems for handling explosive media, for example in warehouses with highly flammable liquids. This system solution not only prevents the penetration of water-polluting substances into the floor, but also protects people and materials from explosions caused by electrostatic discharge.

Background: Water Resources Act in Germany
In Germany, the Water Resources Act obliges everyone to protect water bodies from pollution (WHG, § 62). Accordingly, facilities for the storage, filling, producer, treatment and use of substances hazardous to water must be designed, constructed, maintained, operated and decommissioned in such a way that adverse changes to water bodies are excluded (principle of concern). StoCretec's water pollution control coating systems are comprehensively tested and approved in accordance with the current principles of the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt). They therefore also fulfil the high requirements that were the basis for the secondary containment tank at Chemark.
