Robust epoxy resin floor for a butcher's shop
When converting an old butcher's shop, the new operator opted for modern equipment and a floor that was also suitable for food production. The specification for this floor was "bridging of cracks, slip-resistant, cleanable". The choice fell on the proven, resistant system "StoFloor Industry Elastic WHG Deck 100", which impressed with its very high bridging of cracks (0.4 mm).

In Peiting (Upper Bavaria), the takeover of the Rohrmoser butcher's shop in 2024 by its successor, Metzgerei Schmid, was accompanied by extensive remodelling. The family business invested in new ovens, machinery and cooling and refrigeration technology. The result is a modern shop offering home-made butchery products, a lunch counter and baked goods.
The new owner also completely renovated the sausage kitchen and its entrance. After intensive consultation and consideration of various system solutions, the StoFloor Industry Elastic WHG Deck 100 coating system was chosen for the kitchen floor. The epoxy resin system is statically highly bridging of cracks and very robust. It is suitable for vehicle traffic with the usual shelving and hanging trolleys. The floor is also easy to clean and disinfect. Thanks to its high chemical resistance, it can also withstand highly concentrated cleaning agents and disinfectants.
For occupational safety, it was also crucial to create a slip-resistant surface. The slip resistance class R13 V8 is prescribed for meat processing and sausage kitchens. This could be realised by broadcasting the StoPox WHG Deck 100 coating with Sto-Siliconcarbid F 20.
As the sausage kitchen does not have a basement, the construction team opted for a two-layer priming coat of StoPox GH 205, which acts as a barrier against rising damp from the substrate. The low VOC content epoxy resin (in accordance with the criteria of the Committee for Health-related Evaluation of Building Products, AgBB) is tested for rising damp and ensures a very good adhesive bond to the concrete substrate.
