At the new Thermoplan AG plant in Weggis (CH), fully automatic coffee machines are manufactured on state-of-the-art production equipment. A high-quality ESD floor helps to protect sensitive components - the electrically conductive StoFloor ESD KU 614 coating system from StoCretec is robust, visually appealing and conductive even at low humidity levels.
Thermoplan AG (Weggis/CH) develops and produces professional fully automatic coffee machines for the catering and commercial sectors. The family business operates worldwide as a "thoroughly Swiss-made" company: the appliances are manufactured at the company's headquarters and around 80 per cent of suppliers come from Switzerland.
In summer 2024, Thermoplan opened its fifth, unique plant, doubling its production capacity in Weggis with additional production space, logistics facilities and offices equipped to the latest standards. In order to protect the sensitive appliance components, the requirement for the floors in the production and assembly halls - around 6,000 square metres - was to make them reliably electrostatically dissipative.
The electrically conductive StoFloor ESD KU 614 coating system from StoCretec fulfils this requirement - with excellent conductivity values, even at a relative humidity of 12 percent. The floor has been given slip resistance class R10 to ensure that it is safe to walk on. No additional sealing is required. This saves time during installation and, in addition to the good levelling properties and low consumption, contributes to the high cost-effectiveness of the system.
More flexible in colour choice without fibres
The volumetrically conductive coating system fulfils all current ESD standards. The StoPox KU 614 system coating is not only impressive in functional terms. The absence of carbon fibres results in a homogeneous appearance and enables numerous - even light - colour shades. StoFloor ESD KU 614 is primarily used on mineral substrates in new buildings and refurbishments.
A robust, durable floor with a high-quality appearance was required for the approximately 4,000 square metres of corridors and hallways in the new building. The all-rounder StoFloor Industry BB OS is the ideal solution here. The hard-wearing floor coating system is low-emission, durable and radon-proof. With "StoDivers matting agent" for slip resistance (class R10), it ensures safety in the bright rooms. The self-levelling epoxy resin system is equally suitable for foot traffic and transport vehicles.
