StoCretec Integrated Flooring Concept for the Multi-Storey Car Park at ELES Beričevo Technology Centre
The ELES Technology Centre Beričevo is the central technology and operations hub of ELES, Slovenia’s electricity transmission system operator. It is located near Ljubljana, Slovenia.

This state-of-the-art control and analysis centre is dedicated to the operation and maintenance of the Slovenian electricity transmission system. It serves as the key facility from which ELES monitors, controls and safeguards the country's entire power transmission network.

For the integrated two-storey car park within the building complex, including adjoining technical plant rooms and a stairwell, the project team developed a comprehensive flooring concept tailored to the various areas of use. The proven StoFloor Traffic WL 100 and StoFloor Traffic BB OS system solutions, which have demonstrated their performance over decades, were specified and applied throughout the project.

The StoFloor Traffic WL 100 system for traffic areas was selected for the ground-bearing floor slab in the basement level. Its water-based formulation allows residual moisture to diffuse out of the substrate, preventing blistering and debonding of the coating. This ensures long-term waterproof performance and reliable protection of the building structure. This property is particularly beneficial where floor slabs may be waterproofed less than optimal. With its classification as “limited combustibility”,

the system also meets the fire protection requirements for the building. For the 850 square meter first floor area of the car park, StoFloor Traffic BB OS was selected, a system specifically designed for robustness and exceptional wear resistance. Its broadcast finish also provides enhanced slip resistance, ensuring a high level of safety even in wet conditions.

For the stairwells and technical plant rooms, covering a total area of approximately 1,600 square metres, the project team chose the tried-and-tested epoxy resin water-based coating StoPox WL 100.

The system provides a durable, abrasion-resistant and easy-to-clean surface. The combination of these StoCretec coating systems resulted in a fully integrated and technically sophisticated flooring concept, designed to deliver long-term cost efficiency, minimise risk and provide lasting protection of the building fabric.
