Historische Alte Feuerwache wird „Urgeschichtliches Zentrum Wildeshausen“
Die Alte Feuerwache in Wildeshausen wird zum „Urgeschichtliches Zentrum Wildeshausen“ (UZW) und damit zu einem zentralen Anlaufpunkt als Informations- und Besucherzentrum der Region im niedersächsischen Landkreis Oldenburg. Interessierte finden hier einen optimalen Einstieg zu den bedeutenden und einzigartigen archäologischen Denkmälern und deren spannender Entstehung: den Megalithgräbern rund um Wildeshausen.

Um die neue Nutzung des Gebäudes zu ermöglichen, waren umfangreiche Umbau- und Sanierungsmaßnahmen notwendig. Die direkt an der Hunte gelegene Alte Feuerwache ist zu diesem Zweck teilweise saniert worden, ein Abschnitt musste abgerissen werden. So entstand ein Neubau, der als Mittelteil den Gesamtkomplex ergänzt. Die Räumlichkeiten bieten nun genug Platz für Dauerausstellungen archäologischer Funde, die anhand von Mediastationen dem Publikum jeden Alters die Urgeschichte der Region näher bringen.

Im Erdgeschoss der Alten Feuerwache befinden sich der Empfang, ein Ausstellungsraum und ein kleiner Medienvorführraum. Für die insgesamt 350 Quadratmeter Bodenfläche der Flure und Räumlichkeiten im Erdgeschoss entschied sich das Team um den Bauherrn für das Beschichtungssystem StoFloor Comfort Elastic BB 100 in Hochglanz-Signalschwarz.

StoFloor Comfort Elastic BB 100 ist ein Polyurethanharz-Beschichtungssystem. Es eignet sich insbesondere für Ausstellungsräume, Aufenthalts- oder Verkaufsräume. Es findet Anwendung in Industrie, Gewerbe ebenso wie in Schulen, Kindergärten oder Pflegeeinrichtungen. Das elastische Bodensystem bietet eine dekorative, optisch hochwertige Oberfläche mit hohem Gehkomfort. Darüber hinaus ist StoFloor Comfort Elastic BB 100 trittschallreduzierend und dank seiner fugenlosen Oberfläche gut zu reinigen. Diese Eigenschaften sind insbesondere für Räumlichkeiten wie im Urgeschichtlichen Zentrum Wildeshausen mit zahlreichen Besuchern entscheidend ebenso wie Langlebigkeit und UV-Beständigkeit.

Die Sto Ballotini Vollglaskugeln in der Versiegelung sorgen zusätzlich für Rutschsicherheit, so dass die Besucher bei jedem Wetter im neuen Zentrum willkommen geheißen werden können.

Historic Old Fire Station becomes “Prehistoric Centre Wildeshausen”
The former fire station in Wildeshausen, Germany, is being transformed into the "Wildeshausen Prehistoric Centre" (UZW), becoming a central information and visitor centre for the region in the Oldenburg district of Lower Saxony. Here, those interested will find an ideal introduction to the significant and unique archaeological monuments and their fascinating origins of the area: the megalithic tombs around Wildeshausen.

Extensive renovation and refurbishment measures were necessary to enable the new use of the building. The former fire station, located directly on the Hunte River, has been partially renovated for this purpose; a section had to be demolished. This resulted in a new building that serves as the central part of the overall complex. The premises now offer ample space for permanent exhibitions of archaeological finds, which, with the aid of media stations, bring the region's prehistory to life for visitors of all ages.

The ground floor of the former fire station houses the reception area, exhibition rooms, and a small media presentation room. For the total 350 square metres of flooring in the corridors and rooms on the ground floor, the investor’s team opted for the StoFloor Comfort Elastic BB 100 coating system in high-gloss Signal Black.

StoFloor Comfort Elastic BB 100 is a polyurethane resin coating system. It is particularly suitable for showrooms, exhibition and sales rooms. It is applied in industry and commerce, as well as in schools, nursery schools, and day-care centres. This elastic flooring system offers a decorative, high-quality surface with excellent walking comfort.

Furthermore, StoFloor Comfort Elastic BB 100 reduces the sound of footfall and is easy to clean thanks to its seamless surface finish.
