Proven technology, new application: Balcony waterproofing with StoFloor Balcony Waterproof EB 200
A balcony measuring about 50 square metres in the city of Graz in the Austrian state of Styria received a new waterproofing applying StoFloor Balcony Waterproof EB 200.
This StoCretec waterproofing technology has been protecting balcony floors made of reinforced concrete for over 20 years. The proven thick-layer coating system has furthermore passed the test as a walkable waterproofing system in accordance with EAD 030350-00-0402, with StoFloor Balcony Waterproof EB 200 being certified as having the highest level of the usage category in terms of service life W3 (25 years), climate zones (M and S) as well as temperature resistance. The requirements for balcony waterproofing in accordance with DIN 18531-5 for directly and indirectly walkable waterproofing are fully met.
StoFloor Balcony Waterproof EB 200 is heat-resistant in summer and cold-elastic in winter. It withstands mechanical stress very well and it is weather and UV-resistant. At the same time, it is highly crack-bridging even at low temperatures, thus preventing possible damage caused by water penetrating the building structure. This is ensured by the use of a multi-phase polymer matrix (hybrid) in the StoPur EB 200 coating. The polyurethane resin provides permanent protection against mechanical stress in summer and bridges the cracks that open up when it cools down in winter.
StoFloor Balcony Waterproof EB 200 is suitable for balconies, arcades and loggias. It impresses with its excellent visual characteristics and offers the possibility of decorative design with a very large range of colours shades and the broadcasting of coloured acrylate chips. If even more individuality is desired, it is actually possible to tint individual coating containers. The StoPur DL 520 or StoPur VR 100 sealing coats filled with Sto Ballotini ensure good cleaning properties and safe walking even when wet.
In addition, StoFloor Balcony Waterproof EB 200 contributes to compliance with the requirements for sound insulation in building construction in accordance with DIN 4109. It verifiably reduces impact sound by 12 decibels.
