Concrete Repair of Sewage Plant Hünstetten-Beuerbach:Sand Trap and Screw Pumping Station
The Ems- and Wörsbachtal sewage treatment plant operating association has begun repairing the older reinforced concrete components of its plant in Hünstetten-Beuerbach, Germany.
The plant was being renovated in individual measures in order to disrupt operations as little as possible. In 2019, work began on the sand trap and the screw pumping station. The reinforcement, which was exposed after the substrate was prepared by high-pressure water jets, received StoCrete TK corrosion protection to permanently protect the reinforcing steel from possible future corrosion. Depending on the required layer thickness, the damaged substrate areas were reprofiled using StoCrete TG 252 or StoCrete TG 254 on the afore applied StoCrete TH 250 bonding bridge. StoCrete TS 250 was applied to the wall areas using the wet-mix spraying method. On the floor surface, StoCrete TG 154 screed mortar was applied fresh-infresh on the StoCrete TH 250 bonding bridge.
StoCrete TF 250 fairing coat is suitable as a scratch coat as well as levelling coat for the protection and repair of concrete structures, particularly against highly aggressive water from sewage treatment plants and in waste management - like all mortars from the StoCretec range for the concrete repair of municipal sewage treatment plants. Here it was specially applied as an additional protective layer.
