Zollner plant in Hungary receives conductive floor with the latest technology from StoCretec

Zollner Elektronik, with headquarters in Zandt, Bavaria, has developed into one of 15 leading manufacturers of electronic components worldwide, with currently 24 international locations. In Hungary, Zollner already has production sites in Vác and Szügy. The electronics plant in Vác was expanded in 2023 to include another hall for the production of electronic components for the automotive industry. With this investment, the global player responded to the growing demand for hi-end automotive electronics and their innovation, which the global corporation successfully serves.

An additional factory hall was built in Vác on a total area of around 6,200 square metres, which is divided into three sections: production, clean room and warehouse. The investor had precise specifications for the facilitating of the building. It must meet both the requirements for ESD protection and the strict standards for floor coatings for clean rooms. After detailed consultation with Sto Építőanyag Kft., Hungary, the team of experts surrounding the investor opted for the volume-conductive system StoFloor ESD KU 614, which impressed with its excellent properties and cost-effectiveness.

StoFloor ESD KU 614 meets all common ESD standards. Its ESD performance and mechanical resistance are excellent. The conductivity of our epoxy resin coating StoPox KU 614 is almost independent of the relative humidity. Even at a low humidity of 12 percent, the requirements of the relevant ESD standards for conductivity are perfectly met. The epoxy resin, which is available in numerous colours, is not only functionally impressive. The absence of carbon fibres results in a homogeneous appearance and also enables light colours. A smooth surface was required in the clean room area in particular, and in the other sections a class R9 slip resistance was required. The material offers very good flow properties and low consumption. Additional sealing is not necessary. This saves time and costs during installation. StoPox KU 614 is used primarily on mineral substrates in new buildings and refurbishments.

StoFloor ESD KU 614 is chemically resistant to a wide range of chemicals. Important for the storage section were the high mechanical resistance and the ability to be driven over by the vehicles used by Zollner. The limited combustibility system build-up and the good cleanability were also relevant for the choice of system.
