StoFloor Food Coating System for University Hospital Kitchen in Budapest, Hungary
The South-Buda Central University Hospital in Budapest, Hungary, is an accredited academic training hospital of the Medical University for medical specialists and general medical training. The hospital provides inpatient and outpatient specialist care. As part of a public procurement procedure, the hospital's kitchen building was renovated, including the flooring. The almost 1,100 square metre floor area of the kitchen was coated with the polyurethane concrete coating system StoFloor Food PU 205 SR. The system meets the high requirements for use in the food industry, which also includes a hospital kitchen: resistance, hygiene and occupational safety.
StoFloor Food PU 205 SR is an abrasion-resistant, seamless floor coating system. It is chemically and mechanically highly resistant. At the same time, its surface can be cleaned and decontaminated easily and without leaving any residue. The system is thermally highly resistant up to 90 °C and it is not damaged by even daily cleaning with a steam cleaner and frequent use of chemical cleaning agents or disinfectants. Work safety also when wet is assured by the slip resistance class R 11. The health safety of food at all stages of production is a permanent challenge. Floor coatings must also demonstrate their suitability for the production, packaging, preparation and storage of food. Our HACCP certification states that there is no transfer of odours or tastes from the StoFloor Food PU 205 SR floor coating to foods such as meat or fish. Furthermore, it shall not provide a breeding ground for germs or bacteria and it shall meet the highest hygienic standards.
