Both tubes of the Virngrund Tunnel near Ellwangen (Baden-Württemberg) were reopened to traffic in the direction of Würzburg and Ulm in September 2020 following extensive refurbishment. The repair of the 465-metre-long tunnel of the federal motorway 7 included the entire concrete inner shell of the tunnel, which has been in operation for over 30 years.
