Trough Structure in Hanover: StoConcrete Protect V

In 2018, the Lower Saxony state capital of Hanover, Germany, had the Zeißstrasse trough structure in Hanover repaired. For this purpose, the specialist contractor STRABAG prepared the subsurface. 1,100 square metres of the underpass were hydrophobized and impregnated with StoCryl HP 100.

StoCryl HP 100 reduces the penetration of water and pollutants dissolved in water into concrete structures. The impregnation regulates the moisture balance, has good penetration properties and very good bonding to the subsurface. 800 square meters of the trough structure received additional StoConcrete Protect V surface protection.

Art Project: Zeißstrasse Wall Painting
In 2021, 160 amateur painters transformed the 1,900 square metre wall area of the Zeißstrasse underpass into an art object. A colourful mural was created under the direction of Gundula Zimmermann - art and facade painter and qualified designer. Ms. Zimmermann is a primary, secondary and high school teacher and supervised the painters with her professional know-how. The city of Hanover, the city district office and the Glockseeschule took part in the project, which was realised every day for two and a half months in 2020 and 2021.
