StoCretec floor coating for the new bottling plant at the Pilsen brewery

The traditional “Plzeňský Prazdroje” brewery in Pilsen is a world-famous part of Czech beer culture. The idea of founding a brewery that would brew tasty, high-quality beer was born in the city as early as 1842. Only 17 years later, the name was protected and the first Pilsen brewery was founded in 1869. Following this tradition, the Plzeňský Prazdroje brewery expanded its capacities:
5,000 square metres of original storage space were converted into production space for a new beer bottling line. The client was already familiar with StoCretec food industry coatings and for this reason chose our StoFloor Food PU 205 SR for the floor areas including the concrete sloping floors to the drainage channels.

Technical support from Sto s.r.o. Czech Republic advised the client on the advantages of the system according to the requirements of the premises:
Resistant: Within the filling line area, things are transported, lifted and pushed. There is permanent wetness, the floor is cleaned and disinfected regularly. The floor coating must therefore be chemically, mechanically and thermally highly resistant. The system's layer thickness of 5 to 7 millimetres was also a reason for the investor’s decision, in addition to the system’s additional properties. Damages to the floor coating that need to be repaired or renewed would mean that the brewery would be disrupted in everyday production, which should be avoided.

Hygienic and functional: The StoCrete PU 205 coating is a self-levelling PU mortar coating. It consists of an environmentally friendly, water-based PUR binder. It is solvent-free, odourless and not transferring flavour to any elements. The StoFloor Food PU 205 SR coating system meets the requirements according to HACCP requirements, and has limited combustibility and slip resistant for occupational safety. Due to its high mechanical resistance, the floor coating can be driven on with polyamide, Vulkollan or solid rubber tires. What is still crucial for the beverage industry is the high abrasion resistance and wear resistance, which enables dust-free working. The seamless surface is easy to clean and disinfect, and the built-in drainage channels in the floor ensure additional hygiene and safety.
